God's Righteousness Through Faith

BDD Editorial Team | Thursday, July 2, 2026 | Romans 3:21–24

KEY VERSE: “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” (Romans 3:22a, NIV)

MESSAGE:

The Apostle Paul has already made it clear that no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by observing the law. The law makes us conscious of sin and shows humankind how far we have fallen from God’s righteous standard.

After showing the helpless condition of humankind, Paul turns our attention to the good news: “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known” (Romans 3:21 NIV). This righteousness does not come from human effort, religious achievement, or personal goodness. It is the righteousness God gives through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

This is the hope of every sinner. Paul says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NIV). No one can stand before God based on personal righteousness. Yet God, in His grace, justifies freely through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. To be justified means God declares the believer righteous because of what Christ has done.

This righteousness is received through faith in Jesus Christ. He is the Saviour who redeems us from sin and brings us into a right relationship with God. Place your faith fully in Him, for God’s righteousness is received by faith through His grace.

FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:

Examine where you have been depending on your own goodness, religious effort, or personal record before God. Thank God for revealing His righteousness through Jesus Christ. Put your trust fully in Him today, and live with gratitude for the grace that justifies freely.

PRAYER:

Lord God, thank You for revealing Your righteousness through Jesus Christ. I confess that I cannot make myself righteous before You. Help me put my faith fully in Christ and receive the grace You freely give. Teach me to live each day in gratitude, humility, and obedience. Amen. THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.

SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING

DAILY word study: RIGHTEOUSNESS The word translated “righteousness” comes from the Greek word dikaiosynē, which means righteousness, justice, or right standing before God.

In Romans 3, righteousness is not a reward for human effort. It is God’s gracious gift through Jesus Christ.

Paul shows that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. Yet God provides what sinners cannot produce for themselves. Through Christ, God declares the believer righteous and brings the believer into a right relationship with Him.

Reflect on this:

Stop measuring your standing before God by your personal record. Look to Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him, you receive the righteousness God freely gives.
