Grace Always has the Final Word

KEY VERSE: “The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.” — Romans 5:20, NIV
MESSAGE:
Our last devotional on Romans 5:19 showed how Christ’s obedience provides a righteous standing for everyone who receives Him by faith. Romans 5:20 now reveals why humanity desperately needed that righteousness. God’s law brought sin into clearer view. It named disobedience, exposed the depth of human rebellion, and removed every claim to self-righteousness.
As the law exposed sin, God’s grace became even more evident through Jesus Christ. No depth of human sin can exhaust the grace God gives through His Son. Christ carried the guilt of sin on the cross and opened the way for forgiveness, restoration, and a new life with God. Every sinner who turns to Christ in repentance and faith can receive this abundant grace.
God’s grace calls us into a changed life. It humbles us, teaches us to reject sin, and strengthens us to walk in obedience. Your past failure does not place you beyond God’s mercy. Bring your sin honestly before Him, receive the forgiveness Christ secured, and allow His grace to reshape your choices. Let your life become evidence that God’s grace forgives, restores, and transforms.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Consider how you usually respond when failure occurs. Ask God to shape your response with truth, mercy, and grace. Let your words and actions make room for repentance, healing, and change.
PRAYER:
Merciful Father, thank You for the grace You have given through Jesus Christ. Forgive me, restore me, and teach me to walk in obedience. Let my life display the transforming power of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sin may spread and cause serious damage. God’s grace reaches the repentant sinner with forgiveness, restoration, and power for a changed life.
Grace does more than remove guilt. It begins God’s renewing work within us.
