If God is for Us, Who can be Against Us?

KEY VERSE: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him graciously give us all things?” — Romans 8:31–32
MESSAGE:
After declaring God’s purpose to conform us to Christ and bring us to glory, Paul asks, “What then shall we say to these things?” His answer is a powerful assurance: God is for us. The God who gave His own Son for our salvation will not abandon those He has called and justified.
If God is for us, opposition cannot ultimately defeat His purpose for our lives. People, circumstances, trials and spiritual opposition may come against us, but none can overturn what God has purposed.
God has already given His greatest gift. Paul points us to the cross: God “did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all.” The giving of Christ is the greatest demonstration of God’s love and commitment to us. If God gave His Son for our salvation, we can trust Him with everything else we need to fulfil His purpose.
“He will graciously give us all things” does not mean God will give us everything we desire. It means He will graciously provide everything necessary for His purpose and our ultimate good. The God who began our salvation will faithfully sustain us until we reach glory.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Walk with confidence, knowing that God is for you. Do not allow opposition or difficult circumstances to make you doubt His love. Trust God’s provision, remain faithful in trials and refuse to be controlled by fear. Remember the cross whenever you question whether God truly cares for you.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank Yo
u that You are for me. Thank You for giving Your Son for my salvation. Help me to trust Your love, provision and purpose even when I face opposition and difficult circumstances. Keep me faithful until the day I share in Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DAILY word study: FOR The Greek word hyper means “for,” “on behalf of,” or “in support of.” In Romans 8:31, Paul uses it to express God’s active commitment toward His people.
God being “for us” means His saving purpose is directed toward our good. The cross gives the clearest evidence of that commitment. Since God gave His Son for us, believers can face opposition with confidence that His purpose will not be overturned.

Where are you feeling opposed or uncertain today? Let Romans 8:31 steady your heart: God is for you, and you can keep walking faithfully in His purpose.
