Saved from Wrath by His Blood

KEY VERSE: “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” (Romans 5:9 NKJV)
MESSAGE:
Romans 5:9 gives every believer firm assurance before God. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have been justified. This means God has declared us righteous because Christ bore the punishment our sins deserved. Our acceptance before God does not rest on our good works, religious effort, or personal record. It rests fully on the sacrifice of Christ.
Paul also points us toward the future. Those whom Christ’s blood has justified will be saved from the wrath to come. God’s judgment against sin is real, but believers do not face it without hope. Jesus has already carried the judgment that stood against us. The One who justified us now will bring us safely through the final judgment. Our assurance rests in what Christ has done, not in how strong or worthy we feel.
This truth should lead us into grateful and holy living. Grace does not give us permission to continue in sin. The blood of Christ reminds us of the great cost of our redemption and calls us to honour God with our lives. We can reject condemnation, resist fear, and obey God with confidence. Christ has secured our standing before God, and nothing should move us away from trusting Him.
FEET AND HANDS:
Bring every fear about judgment and condemnation before God today. Thank Christ for bearing the punishment your sins deserved. Examine any area where you have treated grace lightly, confess it, and turn from it. Choose one clear act of obedience that shows gratitude for the salvation Christ has secured for you.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You for justifying me through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You that I will be saved from the wrath to come through Him. Free me from fear and condemnation, and help me rest in Christ’s completed sacrifice. Teach me to live with gratitude, pursue holiness, and obey You faithfully. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

DAILY word study: WRATH The word translated “wrath” comes from the Greek word orgē. It refers to God’s settled and righteous opposition to sin. It is not uncontrolled anger or a sudden emotional outburst.
God’s wrath shows that He takes evil seriously and judges it justly. Romans 5:9 assures believers that Christ has already borne the judgment their sins deserved. Through His blood, they are justified now and will be delivered from the judgment to come.
This gives the believer assurance without making sin seem unimportant.
