KEY VERSE: “Through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners… through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” — Romans 5:19, NIV
MESSAGE:
Our last devotional on Romans 5:18 brought us to Christ’s righteous act and its saving reach. Romans 5:19 now reveals the obedience that gave that act its full meaning. Jesus obeyed the Father throughout His earthly life and submitted fully to death on the cross. Through His perfect obedience, everyone who belongs to Him by faith receives a righteous standing before God.
Adam’s disobedience brought sin and corruption into the human family. Christ’s obedience provides the basis upon which believers are made righteous. His faithful life and sacrificial death fulfilled the Father’s will and answered the guilt of sin. Our confidence before God rests on Christ’s obedience and the righteousness credited to us through faith.
The obedience of Christ also shapes the lives of those He saves. Each step of faithful submission shows that His grace is forming our character. Obedience may require an apology, forgiveness, honesty, patience, sacrifice, or the courage to leave a sinful habit. Identify one area where God’s will is already clear. Respond promptly and let your action show that your life belongs to Christ.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Bring before God any area where you have been slow to obey Him. Ask for courage, then act on what He has already shown you. Let your obedience today express gratitude for Christ’s perfect obedience.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your perfect obedience that secured my righteous standing before God. Teach me to submit to the Father’s will with joy and faithfulness. Give me courage to obey promptly, even when the step is difficult. Let my choices reflect the grace I have received through You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!
The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING
DAILY word study: Obedience Hypakoē is the Greek word translated “obedience.” It describes attentive listening that leads to willing action.
Jesus listened to the Father and carried out His will throughout His earthly life, even to the cross. His obedience secured our righteous standing before God.

Where is God calling you to obey today? Listen carefully, ask for strength, and take the next faithful step.
