The Reach of Christ's Righteous Act

KEY VERSE: “Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.” — Romans 5:18, NIV
MESSAGE:
In our previous reflection on Romans 5:17, we learned that those who receive God’s abundant grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:18 now directs us to the righteous act that made this new life possible. Adam’s trespass brought condemnation into the human family. Christ’s obedient sacrifice on the cross opened the way for justification and life. This saving gift reaches all people and becomes ours when we receive Jesus Christ by faith.
Christ’s one righteous act fully answered the judgment brought through sin. He carried our guilt, satisfied divine justice, and secured a righteous standing before God for everyone who believes. Our acceptance rests on His completed work. His sacrifice remains sufficient for every sin confessed and every sinner who comes to Him in faith.
When doubts arise about your standing with God, direct your heart to what Christ accomplished. Your feelings, past failures, and present struggles cannot change the sufficiency of His sacrifice. Trust His righteousness, receive the life He gives, and live with gratitude. Let the reach of Christ’s saving work shape your worship, confidence, and obedience today.

Identify any failure that still weakens your confidence before God. Bring it to Christ, receive His forgiveness, and take one grateful step of obedience today.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You for the righteous act of Jesus Christ that opened the way for my justification and life. Help me trust His completed work and live with confidence, gratitude, and obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
