KEY VERSE: “That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” — Romans 8:4 NKJV
MESSAGE:
Romans 8:1–3 assures us that there is no condemnation for those in Christ, that the Spirit has set us free from the rule of sin, and that God accomplished through His Son what the law could not do. Verse 4 carries this truth into daily living. Because Christ has dealt with sin and given us His Spirit, we can now walk in ways that please God. Walking according to the Spirit means continually yielding our thoughts, desires and choices to His guidance.
To yield to the Spirit is to allow Him to direct the course of our lives through God’s Word. His leading is not a passing feeling or an excuse to follow personal preferences. The Spirit brings Scripture to bear on our attitudes and decisions, directing us towards the character of Christ. He leads us to speak truthfully, respond graciously, forgive offences, resist temptation and choose what honours God.
We practise this Spirit-led walk by remaining attentive to Scripture, seeking God’s help and obeying what He shows us. When He exposes a wrong attitude, we surrender it. When His Word directs us towards a faithful action, we respond promptly. Each act of obedience becomes another step along the path He has set before us. As we continue to yield to His direction, our ordinary choices reveal God’s transforming work within us.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Before you respond to today’s conversations, choices, and pressures, pause and invite the Holy Spirit to guide you through God’s Word. Listen for the attitude, word, or action that honours Christ, then obey promptly. Let one decision today show that you are walking according to the Spirit and not merely following impulse or habit.
PRAYER:
Father, thank You for giving me Your Spirit through Jesus Christ. I confess that I cannot walk in the life You desire by my own wisdom or strength. Teach me to submit my thoughts, desires, words, and decisions to Your Word. Make me sensitive to the Spirit’s correction and quick to obey His leading. Let my daily conduct reflect the character of Christ and show the transforming power of Your grace. Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

DAILY word study: WALKING “Walk” is translated from the Greek peripateō, meaning to walk about or conduct one’s life. Romans 8:4 describes a continuing way of living shaped by the Holy Spirit.
Walking according to the Spirit means allowing Him to guide our thoughts, desires, words and decisions according to God’s Word. His direction becomes visible through repeated acts of dependence and obedience.
Reflect on this: Follow the Spirit’s direction in today’s ordinary choices, and let your conduct reveal the life of Christ.
