KEY VERSE: “And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.” (Acts 28:24, NKJV)
MESSAGE:
Acts 28:24 reveals the mixed response that followed Paul’s teaching in Rome. Some were persuaded by what he said, and some disbelieved. Paul had explained the kingdom of God and testified concerning Jesus from the Law of Moses and the Prophets. Yet the hearers did not all respond the same way.
This moment highlights an important reality in ministry and Christian witness. The Word of God can meet different responses in different hearts. Some receive the message with openness. Others resist even after careful explanation. The difference in response does not weaken the Word. It reminds us that the human heart needs the gracious work of the Holy Spirit.
This also reminds believers to remain faithful when responses differ. Paul’s responsibility was to speak, explain, and witness to Christ with patience and clarity. The response of each hearer rested before God. In the same way, we must share the Word faithfully, sincerely, and lovingly. We trust God to bring conviction, repentance, faith, and transformation in His time.
Our responsibility is to share faithfully and leave the outcome to God.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Faithfulness matters, even when results differ. Do what God has called you to do in obedience. Share the Word with clarity, prayer, and love. Do not measure your obedience only by immediate response. Entrust every hearer to God.
PRAYER:
Lord, please help me remain faithful in every circumstance. Give me grace to speak Your Word in obedience to Your command to go. Teach me to trust You with the response of every heart. For Your dear Name’s sake, Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!
The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING
DAILY word study: PERSUADED Today’s word is “persuaded.”
In Acts 28:24, “some were persuaded by the things which were spoken.”
The Greek word is epeithonto, from peithō.
It means to persuade, convince, or bring someone to a point of trust.
This word helps us see that Paul’s message invited thoughtful response. He had explained the kingdom of God and testified concerning Jesus from the Scriptures. Some listeners received what was spoken and became persuaded. Some disbelieved.
Persuasion in Christian witness comes through faithful explanation, Scripture-rooted teaching, and the work of the Holy Spirit. We share the Word with care, and we leave the response of every heart before God.
Reflect on this:
Share the Word faithfully. Trust God to work in the hearts of those who hear.
