Faith in the Risen Saviour

Rev. Enoch Thompson | Saturday, July 11, 2026 | Romans 4:23–25

KEY VERSE: “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:25, NIV)

MESSAGE:

The coming of Christ, His life, His teaching, His death, and His resurrection bring faith to its highest focus in the Gospel. Abraham believed God’s promise, and righteousness was credited to him. Now the Gospel calls us to believe in the God who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

The Son of God came in the flesh, revealed the Father’s heart, bore our sins, conquered death, and rose again to secure our justification. Abraham looked forward by faith and rejoiced in the day of Christ. Jesus Himself said, “Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad” (John 8:56 NIV). What Abraham saw from afar, we now see clearly in the finished work of Christ.

Just as righteousness was credited to Abraham through faith, righteousness is credited to all who believe in Jesus Christ. He was delivered over to death for our sins and raised to life for our justification. His death dealt with our guilt. His resurrection confirms that God’s saving work is complete.

Because Christ lives, believers have confidence before God. Our hope rests in the risen Saviour who conquered sin and death. We can walk each day with assurance, gratitude, and courage because Jesus has secured our salvation and opened the way to eternal life.

FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:

Thank Jesus today for His death and resurrection. Live with confidence that your justification rests in His finished work. Share the hope of the risen Christ with someone who needs encouragement.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for my sins and rising again for my justification. Help me to live with joy, confidence, and hope because You are my risen Saviour. Let my life bear witness to the salvation You have secured. For Your dear Name’s sake, Amen.

THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.

SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING

DAILY word study: DELIVERED The word translated “delivered” comes from the Greek word paradidōmi, which means to hand over, give up, or surrender into another’s hands.

Romans 4:25 says Jesus “was delivered over to death for our sins.” This means His death was not an accident or a defeat. He was handed over according to God’s saving purpose.

Jesus carried our sins to the cross and bore the judgment we deserved. His resurrection then shows that His saving work was accepted and complete. The One who was delivered for our sins was raised so that we may stand right before God.

Reflect on this:

When guilt weighs on your heart, look to Christ. He was delivered for your sins and raised for your hope. Your confidence rests in the Saviour who gave Himself for you.
