KEY VERSE: “Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God.” (Romans 4:20, NIV)
MESSAGE:
Scripture teaches that faith is essential in our walk with God. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that without faith it is impossible to please Him. Abraham shows us this kind of faith in a way that both challenges and strengthens us.
Abraham was fully aware of the obstacles before him. His body was as good as dead, and Sarah’s womb was barren. The promise of a child seemed impossible by human calculation. Yet Abraham continued to believe God. He faced the facts clearly, and he held on to the greater truth that God had the power to fulfil what He had promised.
This is the faith that does not waver. It does not pretend that difficulties are absent. It sees the difficulty and still gives glory to God. Abraham’s faith grew stronger because he was fully persuaded that God was able to do what He had spoken.
There will be seasons when God’s promises seem delayed, and circumstances appear to speak louder than His Word. In such moments, faith must keep looking to the character and power of God. The believer is called to trust Him with patience, honour Him with praise, and remain confident that His timing is perfect.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Identify one area where your faith is being tested. Hold that situation before God in prayer, and place one promise from Scripture beside it. When anxious thoughts rise, answer them with God’s Word and share a testimony of His faithfulness with someone today.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, strengthen my faith when challenges arise. Help me to trust Your promises and remain firm even when I cannot see the outcome. Teach me to give You glory while I wait, knowing that You have the power to do what You have promised. For Your dear Name’s sake, Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!
The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING
DAILY word study: WAVER The word translated “waver” comes from the Greek word diakrinō, which can mean to doubt, hesitate, be divided, or draw back in uncertainty.
In Romans 4:20, Abraham did not allow unbelief to divide his heart from God’s promise. He saw the weakness of his body and the barrenness of Sarah’s womb, yet he remained anchored in what God had spoken. His faith was not blind to reality. It was fixed on God’s power. Abraham gave glory to God because he was fully persuaded that God could do what He had promised.
Reflect on this:
When your circumstances test your faith, do not let fear divide your heart. Hold on to God’s Word, give Him glory while you wait, and trust His power beyond what you can see.
