KEY VERSE: “he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:26, NIV)
MESSAGE:
One of history’s greatest questions is: How can a holy God forgive sinners without compromising His justice?
God is perfectly righteous and cannot ignore sin. Every offence against His holy character deserves judgment. Yet God is also rich in mercy and desires to save and restore people. How can He remain just while showing mercy?
The answer is found at the cross. There, God’s justice and mercy met perfectly. Jesus willingly bore the punishment sinners deserved, satisfying every demand of divine justice. Sin was not overlooked. It was fully paid for through Christ’s sacrifice.
The cross reveals both God’s holiness and His love. Romans 3:26 declares that God is both “just” and “the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.” Through Christ, God remains righteous while declaring sinners righteous.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Trust that God’s forgiveness is not a compromise of His justice. It is the fulfilment of His justice through Christ. When guilt, doubt, or accusation comes, look to the cross. Your forgiveness does not rest on God overlooking sin. It rests on Christ’s finished work that fully paid for it.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank You that at the cross, Your justice and mercy met. When guilt or doubt arises, remind me that Christ has fully paid for my sin. Teach me to rest in Your grace, walk in obedience, and live with grateful worship. In Jesus’ name, Amen. THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!
The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING
DAILY word study: JUSTIFIES The word translated “justifies” comes from the Greek word dikaioō, which means to declare righteous, to acquit, or to put someone in right standing.
In Romans 3, God justifies sinners through the finished work of Jesus Christ. This means God declares the believer righteous because Christ has fully paid for sin at the cross.
God’s forgiveness rests on justice fulfilled through Christ. The believer stands before God accepted, forgiven, and restored through faith in Jesus.
Reflect on this:
When guilt speaks, remember what God has declared through Christ. Your standing before God rests on Jesus. Trust Him. Rest in His finished work.
