Love Fulfils the Law
Rev. Enoch Nii Narh Thompson | November 4, 2026 | Romans 13:8–10

KEY VERSE: “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.”_ Romans 13:8 NIV
MESSAGE:
In Romans 13:8–10, Paul teaches that while we should settle financial obligations, the obligation to love others never ends. Love undergirds God’s commands for human relationships. When believers genuinely love others, they avoid actions that harm them and seek their good.
True Christian love is more than an emotion. It is demonstrated through kindness, patience, forgiveness, compassion and selfless service. Such love reflects Christ's character, who perfectly fulfilled the law and showed God’s love through His life and sacrifice.
When God's love fills our hearts, we should express our obedience in how we treat others. A life governed by love honours God and promotes peace, unity, and care for others. In this way, believers become living testimonies of the power of the Gospel.
Paul reminds us that love does no harm to a neighbour. Love for others is therefore a practical expression of obedience to God and the fulfilment of His law.
We must consider how we can intentionally demonstrate Christlike love in our relationships. We can choose kindness, forgiveness and compassion, especially toward those who may be difficult to love.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Encourage someone in need, forgive an offence or perform an act of kindness without seeking recognition. Let your words and actions reflect the love of Christ today.
PRAYER:
Loving Father, thank You for Your unfailing love shown through Jesus Christ. Fill my heart with genuine love for others, and help me show that love through my words and actions. Teach me to serve selflessly, forgive freely and seek the good of those around me. May my life reveal the love of Christ each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

Day 308 Mark 16; Luke 1–3 — The Risen Christ and the Promised Saviour
DAILY word study: FULFILLED The word “fulfilled” comes from the Greek word πληρόω (plēroō), which means to fulfil, complete, or bring something to its intended purpose.
Paul uses this word to show what love accomplishes in our relationships with others. God’s commands guide us away from harming our neighbour and toward seeking their good. When love shapes the way you speak, forgive, serve and respond to others, God’s intention for those commands becomes visible in your life.
Love gives practical expression to what God requires of you in your relationships.
Reflect on this:
How can your love for someone today give practical expression to what God desires?
