No One is Righteous

KEY VERSE: “As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.’” (Romans 3:10–11, NIV)
MESSAGE:
In Romans 1:17, the Apostle Paul declared that the righteousness of God is revealed through the gospel by faith. This stands in contrast to the confidence many Jews placed in the privileges God had given them. They relied on their adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law, the worship of God, and His promises.
Their privileges also included the patriarchs and, above all, Jesus Christ, who came from the Jewish people according to His human ancestry. Yet Paul makes it clear that these blessings could never make anyone righteous before God.
In this letter, Apostle Paul declares, “There is no one righteous, not even one.” In verse 9, he writes, “We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.” His message is unmistakable. The Jew, the moralist, and the pagan all stand equally guilty before God because every person is under the power of sin.
Paul concludes in verse 12, “All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” Whether Jew or Gentile, every person stands guilty before the righteous God apart from His saving grace.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
What are you relying on to stand right before God? If your confidence rests in your good works, religious heritage, or obedience to the law, you will always fall short. Scripture reminds us that “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6, NIV). Place your confidence completely in Jesus Christ and in the righteousness He alone provides.
PRAYER:
Thank You, Father, that I am declared righteous, not because of my good works, but through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. I pray for those who trust in their own goodness, family heritage, or nationality for acceptance before You. Open their hearts to place their faith and hope in Jesus Christ alone. Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!
The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING
DAILY word study: RIGHTEOUS The word translated "righteous" comes from the Greek word dikaios, which means "just," "upright," or "acceptable before God."
In Romans 3:10, Paul declares that no one is righteous by nature. No one meets God's perfect standard through good works, religious background, or personal effort. True righteousness is God's gift, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
Reflect on this:
Stop relying on your own goodness. Trust completely in the righteousness that God provides through Christ.
