KEY VERSE: “Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded… For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.” (Romans 3:27–28, NIV)
MESSAGE:
One of humanity’s greatest struggles is the tendency to take credit for what only God can do. We often measure our worth by our achievements, talents, status, or religious activities. Yet Paul reminds us in Romans 3:27–28 that there is no room for boasting before God because salvation is not earned by human effort but received by faith in Jesus Christ.
No amount of good works, religious observance, or personal accomplishment can make us right with God. Our salvation is entirely the result of God’s grace. If salvation depended on our performance, we would have reason to boast. But since Christ has accomplished everything necessary for our redemption through His death and resurrection, all glory belongs to Him.
Faith humbly acknowledges our inability and God’s sufficiency. It recognises that we are saved not because we are good enough, but because God is gracious enough. Therefore, every blessing, every victory, and every spiritual achievement should lead us to gratitude rather than pride.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
As believers, we must guard our hearts against comparing ourselves with others or seeking recognition for our accomplishments. Instead, let us celebrate the grace of God that has freely saved us and continues to sustain us every day. When tempted to boast, remember that every good gift comes from God. Share your testimony in a way that highlights God’s grace rather than your personal achievements.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for saving me by Your grace and not by my own works. Forgive me for the times I have taken credit for what You have done in my life. Help me to walk in humility, always recognising that every blessing and every success comes from You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

DAILY word study: BOASTING
The word translated “boasting” comes from the Greek word kauchēsis, which means pride, glorying, or confidence in what someone thinks they have achieved.
Paul shows that justification by faith removes every ground for spiritual pride. No one can stand before God and point to personal effort, religious works, or moral record as the basis for being accepted.
Grace gives salvation through Jesus Christ. Faith receives what God has provided. That leaves the believer humble, thankful, and dependent on Christ.
Reflect on this:
Lay down every quiet boast before God today. Your hope is not in what you have done. Your confidence is in what Christ has done. Live today with gratitude, humility, and faith.
