Rev. Tetteh-Annor Larbi | June 2, 2024 | John 10:28-30
KEY VERSE:
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. John 10:29 (NKJV)
MESSAGE:
Jesus provides a profound assurance of the eternal security we have in Him, saying, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one." This powerful statement emphasises the dual security offered by both Jesus and the Father. As believers, understanding whose hands we are in brings us immense peace and confidence, knowing that our eternal destiny is secure and protected by divine power.
The imagery of being held in Jesus’ hand and the Father’s hand underscores the strength and permanence of our salvation. Just as a shepherd protects his sheep from harm, Jesus, our Good Shepherd, ensures that no external force can snatch us away from His care. This assurance is further reinforced by the unity between Jesus and the Father, highlighting that our security is grounded in the omnipotent power and love of God Himself. In a world filled with uncertainties and threats, this promise offers us a steadfast anchor, reminding us that we are securely held by the One who created and sustains the universe. By embracing our identity as sheep held securely by the Good Shepherd and the Father, we can navigate life's uncertainties with confidence and peace, knowing that our ultimate security lies in the hands of our loving and all-powerful God.
