KEY VERSE: “Then Paul . . . received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.” (Acts 28:30-31, NKJV)
MESSAGE:
Our text for today presents a remarkable conclusion to the book of Acts. Paul lived in his own rented house under Roman custody, yet he continued to welcome all who came to him. He preached the kingdom of God and taught the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with confidence. His movements were restricted, but his spiritual assignment remained active and fruitful.
What makes this ending so powerful is the unhindered proclamation of the Gospel. After enduring storms, persecution, imprisonment, rejection, and hardship throughout his ministry journey, Paul was still preaching with boldness and confidence. The opposition he faced became a platform through which the Gospel continued to spread. This reminds believers that God’s work can continue in difficult conditions.
Paul’s life shows that God can make our lives effective even in seasons of restriction. In confinement, he remained available, faithful, and passionate about sharing Christ with others. The final verses of Acts encourage us to remain steadfast in our calling, regardless of the obstacles around us. When God’s Spirit is at work, His Word continues to move forward powerfully.
God’s Word cannot be chained. Even in restricted places, His purpose advances. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can speak Christ with courage and serve faithfully where God has placed us.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
No situation can stop the advancement of God’s Word through a willing vessel. Make yourself available today. Let God use your words, your witness, and your faithfulness to point others to Christ.
PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, please empower me to live faithfully and speak Your Word boldly. Make me available for Your purpose, and help me to point others to Christ wherever You place me. For Your dear Name’s sake, Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!
The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING
DAILY word study: CONFIDENCE
In Acts 28:31, Paul preached the kingdom of God and taught the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ “with all confidence.”
The Greek word translated “confidence” is parrēsia. It means boldness, openness, freedom of speech, or courage in speaking plainly.
Parrēsia carries the idea of speaking openly without fear. Paul was under Roman custody, yet he taught freely about the Lord Jesus Christ. His confidence did not come from comfortable circumstances. It came from his conviction in Christ and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit.
Acts ends with this word because the Gospel continues to advance through bold and faithful witness.
Reflect on this:
Ask the Holy Spirit for parrēsia. Speak Christ with courage. Do not wait for perfect conditions before you obey God. Let your words, your witness, and your faithfulness point others to the Lord Jesus Christ.
