God's Outstretched Hands
Rev. Tetteth-Annor Larbi | Monday, October 12, 2026 | Romans 10:18–21

KEY VERSE: “But to Israel he says: "All day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and contrary people.” — Romans 10:21 (NKJV)
MESSAGE:
Romans 10 closes with a striking picture: God stretching out His hands all day long toward a people who continue to resist Him. Paul’s point is clear. Israel had heard. God had spoken. His invitation had been extended again and again, yet many still refused to respond.
Those outstretched hands reveal God’s patience and mercy. They are open, welcoming, and extended. God is not reluctant to receive those who turn to Him. The problem is not that He has failed to reach out. The tragedy is that people can continue resisting even when His invitation is clear.
This brings Romans 10 to a fitting close. God speaks. He sends messengers. The Gospel is proclaimed. People hear. Some believe, while others resist. Through it all, salvation begins with God’s initiative. He speaks, He invites, and He holds out His hands. Our responsibility is to respond in faith rather than remain resistant.
If you have drifted from God, His invitation still calls you back. Do not mistake His patience for permission to remain where you are. Respond to Him while His hands are open. And if you are praying for someone who has wandered, do not lose hope. God’s patience is greater than yours. Keep loving, keep praying, and reflect His patience in the way you treat them. God’s outstretched hands reveal mercy. Do not resist them. Come to Him.
FEET AND HANDS OF THE MESSAGE:
If you have drifted from God, return to Him today with honesty and faith. If someone you love has wandered, keep praying and let your words and actions reflect the patience God has shown you.
PRAYER:
Gracious Father, thank You for Your patient mercy. Keep me from resisting Your call. Draw me back whenever I wander, and help me reflect Your patience toward those I love who are far from You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

DAILY word study: STRETCHED OUT The Greek expression behind “stretched out” is ekpetannymi (ἐκπετάννυμι), pronounced ek-peh-TAN-noo-mee. It carries the sense of extending or spreading something outward.
In Romans 10:21, Paul uses this picture of God continually holding out His hands toward a resistant people. The image shows patient invitation, but it also exposes persistent refusal.
God’s outstretched hands reveal both mercy and responsibility. His invitation is open, but it still calls for a response.
Reflect on This:
How are you responding to what God is holding out to you today?
