Doxology - To Him be the Glory
Rev. (Rtd.) Osei Kwabena Nkrahene | Monday, October 19, 2026 | Romans 11:33–36

KEY VERSE: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” — Romans 11:33 (ESV)
MESSAGE:
After wrestling with some of the deepest questions about God’s saving purposes, Paul reaches a point where explanation gives way to worship. He has considered Israel’s unbelief, the inclusion of the Gentiles, God’s covenant faithfulness, and His mercy toward both. Now he exclaims, “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!” There are dimensions of God’s judgments and ways that the human mind cannot fully trace.
This has been evident throughout Paul’s argument. Humanity rejected the knowledge of God revealed through creation and instead turned to worship what God had made. Many within Israel remained in unbelief, yet God had not abandoned His purposes concerning them. In His wisdom, Israel’s stumbling became the occasion for salvation to come to the Gentiles, while His covenant faithfulness toward Israel remained firm. What appears difficult for us to understand is never beyond the wisdom of the Sovereign God.
Paul reinforces this truth in verses 34 and 35 by drawing on Isaiah 40:13 and Job 41:11. No human being can fully know the mind of the Lord unless He reveals Himself, and no one can place God in debt. We have nothing that did not first come from Him. His wisdom does not depend on our counsel, and His actions are not governed by any obligation we can impose upon Him.
Verse 36 then brings the whole discussion to its proper conclusion: “For from him and through him and to him are all things.” Everything begins with God, is sustained through God, and ultimately exists for His glory. When our understanding reaches its limit, faith does not demand that God explain Himself to our satisfaction. It bows in trust and worship. Therefore, all glory belongs to God, the Triune God, now and forever. Amen.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Do not make your trust in God depend on understanding everything He does. Submit to His wisdom, receive His mercy with gratitude, and let worship become your response when His ways are beyond your understanding.
PRAYER:
Lord, give us grace to trust Your wisdom, submit to Your ways, and worship You even when we cannot understand all that You are doing. From You, through You, and for You are all things. To You be glory forever. Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

DAILY word study: UNSEARCHABLE The Greek word for unsearchable is anexeraunētos (ἀνεξεραύνητος), pronounced an-ex-er-OW-nay-tos. It means beyond tracing out, impossible to fully investigate, or too deep to exhaust.
In Romans 11:33, Paul is not saying God acts without wisdom. He is saying God’s wisdom is deeper than human understanding can fully reach. We may see part of His work, but we cannot always trace every reason behind His judgments.
Anexeraunētos points to the limits of human understanding, not to any lack of order in God. His ways may be beyond us, but they are never beyond His wisdom.
Reflect on This:
Can you trust God’s wisdom even when you cannot trace everything He is doing?
