Love Sincerely
Rev. Charles Oppong-Poku | Sunday, October 25, 2026 | Romans 12:9–13

KEY VERSE:
“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” — Romans 12:9 (NKJV)
MESSAGE:
Having explained how believers should use their different gifts to serve the body of Christ, Paul now teaches that sincere love must govern every Christian relationship. Genuine love comes from a sincere heart and seeks others' good. Our love should remain genuine and consistent in our attitudes and actions, flowing from hearts shaped by the love of Christ.
Paul continues, “Abhor what is evil.” Genuine love has moral character. It recognises the harm that evil brings to people, relationships, and our walk with God. Sincere love speaks truth graciously, addresses wrongdoing with wisdom, and seeks others' spiritual good. Love desires that our relationships and conduct reflect what pleases God.
Paul also instructs believers to “cling to what is good.” Sincere love holds firmly to what is right, wholesome, and pleasing to God. Honesty, kindness, forgiveness, faithfulness, justice, and practical care should shape the way we relate to others. We should remain committed to these values in every circumstance. When goodness shapes our attitudes and actions, our love becomes visible, and our Christian witness becomes credible.
FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:
Examine the motives behind the way you relate to others. Show genuine care through practical acts of kindness. Speak truth graciously when correction is needed. Hold firmly to what is good in your relationships and daily conduct.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for demonstrating Your sincere and unfailing love through Jesus Christ. Purify my heart and teach me to love others genuinely. Help me reject what dishonours You and hold firmly to what is good. May my words, attitudes, and actions reflect Christ's love and bring honour to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.
SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

DAILY word study: SINCERE What does Paul mean by “Let love be without hypocrisy” in Romans 12:9?
The Greek word is anupokritos (ἀνυπόκριτος), pronounced ah-noo-POH-kree-tos. It means genuine, sincere, or free from pretence.
In Romans 12:9, Paul uses this word to describe the kind of love believers should show. Christian love should come from a genuine heart. Our care, kindness, words, and actions should truthfully express our desire for another person’s good.
Anupokritos reminds us that sincere love begins within. God cares about the heart behind the kindness we show. When Christ shapes our motives, our outward expressions of love become genuine.
Reflect on This:.
Is the love you show others flowing from a sincere heart?
