Rev. Charles Oppong-Poku | Saturday, October 24, 2026 | Romans 12:4–8

KEY VERSE: “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.” — Romans 12:6a (NKJV)

MESSAGE:

Having established that believers are members of one body with different functions, Paul now teaches that our gifts express God’s grace. God gives these gifts so we may serve others, strengthen the Church, and faithfully contribute to His work. Each believer is called to use what God has entrusted to them for His glory.

Our different gifts should lead us to gratitude and humility. Every gift matters in fulfilling God’s purpose, whether exercised publicly or quietly. We should recognise what God has given us, develop it carefully, and use it faithfully in the service of others.

Paul also shows that we should exercise different gifts according to their purpose. Teaching should communicate truth. Leadership should be carried out with diligence. Giving should be generous. Encouragement should strengthen others. Mercy should be shown cheerfully. How we exercise our gifts matters because our service should reflect God's character.

God has entrusted gifts to His people so that the Church may be strengthened, believers may be built up, and His mission may advance. Use what God has placed in your hands faithfully. Let your service bless others and bring honour to His name.

FEET AND HANDS FOR THE MESSAGE:

Identify the gifts God has entrusted to you. Develop them through prayer, learning, and faithful practice. Exercise them with humility, integrity, generosity, and love. Evaluate your service by whether it builds others up and advances God’s work.

PRAYER:

Dear God, thank You for the gifts You have entrusted to Your children. Help me recognise, develop, and faithfully use what You have given me. Teach me to serve with humility, diligence, generosity, and love. May my service strengthen others, advance Your work, and bring honour and glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING.

SHOWERS! BLESSINGS!!

The 365 DAILY BIBLE READING

Day 297 Matthew 3–5 — The King Is Revealed and Calls Us to Kingdom Living.

DAILY word study: GIFT

What does Paul mean when he speaks about “gifts” in Romans 12:6?

The Greek word is charisma (χάρισμα), pronounced KHA-ris-ma. It means a gracious gift, a favour freely given, or an ability entrusted by God. Its connection with charis, meaning “grace,” reminds us that spiritual gifts flow from God’s grace.

In Romans 12:6, Paul says believers have different gifts “according to the grace that is given to us.” Each gift is therefore something God entrusts to a believer for faithful service within the body of Christ.

Charisma helps us see our gifts as expressions of grace. When God gives you an ability for service, He also gives you an opportunity to bless others, strengthen His Church, and honour Him through faithful use.

Reflect on This:

What gift has God entrusted to you, and how are you using it to strengthen others?
